Introduction to Wave 1
The Molchanovs Wave 1 freediving course is your entry ticket to the underwater world on a single breath of air. It provides you with the essentials for taking your first steps into the freediving world. By the end of this course, you will become a safe and autonomous freediver with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to dive comfortably to a depth between 12-20 meters. This includes an introduction to the physical and physiological aspects of freediving along with the practice of basic freediving skills such as equalization of the ears, efficient finning technique and the correct breathing before and after a freedive. A special focus is given to safety procedures for freediving. As a unique trait of the Molchanovs Education system you will be introduced to the no-fin technique in the swimming pool, where all skills are practiced before entering the open water to guarantee you a comfortable and safe learning progression. We ensure you a fun and safe diving experience according to our high quality teaching standards!

Passing Requirements
Pool - STA 1 min 30 sec
Complete a Static breath hold of minimum 1 minute and 30 seconds in our swimming pool
Open Water - CWTB & FIM 12-20m
Perform a comfortable dive to at least 12m by pulling the rope and using bi-fins
Open Water - CWTB Buddying 6-10m
Become an autonomous freediver and demonstrate correct buddying techniques to a depth between 6-10 meters
Open Water - Rescue 6-10m
Demonstrate correct rescue procedures in freediving emergency scenarious from a depth of 6-10 meters

You just need a swimming suit and sunscreen. Every other equipment you might need is included in your course. If you already have your own freediving equipment, feel free to bring it. We also provide towels to all our guests.
Smoking is not an issue to try or practice freediving. You will still be amazed by what you can achieve with the relaxation and breathing techniques you will learn during your course.
Once you register for the course, you will be given access to the online materials including manuals, videos and exam. You can go through them at your own rhythm to prepare for the course. This will allow us to spend more time practicing in the water.
